Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women in Australia and causes the second most deaths of any kind of cancer. According of the Cancer Council of Australia in 2012 15,050 women and 116 men were diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia. We wanted to do something to support the McGrath Foundation in the fight against breast cancer because we believe that breast care nurses, and the other initiatives run by the foundation, make a world of difference to the lives of families experiencing breast cancer.
Everyone in our group has a mother, aunt, sister or grandmother so this is an important issue for boys as well! Also, men can get breast cancer too.
So please sponsor our Umpiring Group as we proudly wave the pink flag and wear pink socks when we umpire on the Mother's Day weekend (5th-8th of May) in support of all of the women, men, boys and girls in football who have been touched by breast cancer. After all real men (and women) wear pink! Let's paint the field pink this Mother's Day. Celebrate your mum in a different way. After all we're sure everyone's mum has driven them somewhere, even if it wasn't to football on the weekend like ours do.

McGrath Foundation
The McGrath Foundation raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. Our highly qualified nurses help individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support, for free.
From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, McGrath Breast Care Nurses are there to help. While over 110,000 families have been supported since 2005, more nurses are needed to meet the growing rate of breast cancer diagnosis in Australia.
